Tuition

At eligible licensed daycares, families with eligible children who are kindergarten age or younger pay $326.25 per month for 100 or more registered hours, or $230 per month for 50 to 99 registered hours. Kindergarten-age children qualify only when they attend childcare during regular school hours and are not attending full-time kindergarten. KCC’s daycare fees already reflect this funding; optional services are additional.

Part-time care at KCC is not guaranteed. Please enquire first. Availability depends on your child’s age, the requested schedule, the centre, staffing and current space availability. A part-time space is confirmed only after the centre has reviewed and approved the request.

Families with a combined annual income below $90,000 may qualify when their child attends full-time Kindergarten or Grades 1–6 and is enrolled in licensed childcare outside regular school hours. Families must also meet Alberta’s residency and childcare-need requirements. The amount depends on family income, the child’s grade, the program and monthly attendance. Alberta uses information from Line 15000 of the family’s most recent CRA Notices of Assessment. Eligibility and subsidy amounts are determined by the Government of Alberta; check the current rules and apply at alberta.ca/child-care-subsidy-program.

Families apply to the Government of Alberta, which decides eligibility and the approved amount; KCC cannot decide either. You need a secured childcare space to apply, and you can apply as early as the month before care begins.

Subsidy starts no earlier than the beginning of the month in which Alberta receives your completed application. Approvals can take several weeks, and Alberta states that savings can be retroactive to the approved start month when the completed application was submitted in that month.

Families are responsible for applying, renewing on time, reporting changes and meeting any attendance requirement, and remain responsible for fees a subsidy does not cover. Tuition reserves your child’s confirmed space and covers KCC’s core licensed childcare program, including certified educators, individualized learning experiences, indoor and outdoor play, learning documentation and regular family communication.

Program-specific inclusions, such as PD-day and school-break care, are identified with each program. Optional services are billed separately. School transportation, where offered, requires enrolment in the Essential Services Package.

The optional Essential Services Package costs $35 per month. It includes the diapers, wipes, morning and afternoon snacks, milk or yogurt, sunscreen, insect repellent and program transportation that apply to your child’s program. Families who decline the package provide the applicable items themselves. School transportation, where offered, requires enrolment in Essential Services.

To start or stop Essential Services, give the Director written notice before the 15th of the month. The change takes effect on the first day of the following month.

A separate optional centre-provided lunch service is coming soon. Details will be added once they are confirmed.

Other charges apply only when relevant. These include a late-pickup fee of $2 per minute, per child, and a $40 fee for a returned payment. An enrolment deposit applies only when it is included in the written terms provided to your family before the space is confirmed.

Please enquire before registering for part-time or drop-in care. Neither option is guaranteed.

Drop-in care may be available by advance arrangement and is also subject to space and staffing. The centre will review your request and confirm whether care can be offered. Current rates are shown with each program on our tuition page.

Monthly tuition and recurring fees are billed in advance on the 20th of each month for the following month, normally through pre-authorized debit. Because tuition reserves your child’s space, fees remain payable during illness, vacations, statutory holidays and planned closure days. Families can view invoices through the Centre App or Parent Portal.
